Please read this disclosure carefully before using TokenPe. It does not list every risk. If you are not sure whether our services are right for your business, get independent advice.
1. TokenPe is not a bank
TokenPe is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business. It is not a bank. Balances held with TokenPe are not bank deposits, do not earn interest, and are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or protected by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). FinCEN registration is not a licence and is not an endorsement.
2. Price volatility
The value of digital assets can rise or fall sharply and quickly, and can fall to zero. If you hold digital assets in your balance, or there is time between a payment and its conversion, you bear the risk of price changes. Stablecoins aim to keep a stable value but can lose their peg.
3. Stablecoin and issuer risk
USDC and USDT depend on their issuers and on the reserves that back them. An issuer may freeze tokens, stop supporting a network, or fail to redeem tokens. Versions of a stablecoin on different networks may be issued, bridged or wrapped by different parties and may carry different risks.
4. Irreversible transactions
Blockchain transactions cannot be cancelled or reversed once they are sent. Funds sent to the wrong address, on the wrong network or in an unsupported asset may be permanently lost.
5. Network risk
Blockchain networks can experience congestion, high network costs, delays, outages, forks, software bugs, attacks and changes to their rules. These can delay or prevent transactions, or affect the value of an asset. Bridges and layer-2 networks carry additional technical risks.
6. Conversion and payout risk
Conversion rates are quoted for a limited time. Fiat payouts depend on banks and payout partners, including our Mastercard partnership, and are available only where Mastercard transfers are supported. Payouts can be delayed, returned or rejected by the receiving bank or partner, or because of compliance checks.
7. Legal and regulatory risk
Laws on digital assets, payments and gaming are changing in the United States and around the world. Changes may restrict or end our ability to offer some services, assets or destinations, or affect your business.
8. Compliance holds
We may delay, hold or reject transactions and freeze balances to comply with the law, sanctions rules or partner requirements, as described in our Terms of Service.
9. Security risk
Although we use strong security controls, no system is completely secure. If your login details or API keys are compromised, unauthorised transactions may occur. Protect your credentials and use two-factor authentication.
10. Third-party risk
We rely on custodians, banks, payout partners, blockchain analytics providers and other service providers. Their failure, insolvency or error could affect our services.
11. Tax
You are responsible for determining and paying any taxes that apply to your use of digital assets and our services.
